The hope of this section is to make transparent and available all of the work of the Youth Ministry & Spirituality Project. Under documents you'll find all the internal papers of the Project from grant proposals to congregational reports, journal entries from youth ministers in the project as well as our reports to the Lilly endowment. Click on Practices to find the key practices and processes we have taught and used in our “contemplative approach to youth ministry." Everything published on the project in the mainstream and Christian media can be found under articles including the profile on spiritual practices in the Wall Street Journal, an early description of contemplative youth ministry from the Christian Century and "A Contemplative Approach to Staff Meetings" from Youth Worker Journal. In our audio/video section you can download video clips from YMSP inservices, workshops on contemplative youth ministry and interviews with YMSP staff and participants. You'll also find every newsletter previously released by the Project is available for download or print. One note as you read this material: the Youth Ministry & Spirituality Project has been a learning project which means our language and understanding of Christian spirituality, youth ministry and even the Project's mission has changed over time. We've tried to group resources under Phase 1 (1997-2000) or Phase 2 (2001-2004) to help you notice the difference in language and focus. If you're interested in meeting live people who are engaged in teaching and practicing some of the ideas cultivated by YMSP then check out our calendar of events which lists retreats, workshops and events where Project partners are presenting material. You'll also find a list of teachers who are available to lead retreats and events on contemplative youth ministry for your community.
